My love for the
Burmese breed began when I was given a Blue Burmese kitten named Oliver.
Who ever said that Burmese are like peanuts was speaking from
experience! I then acquired my Brown Tortie "Tabby" who
started my profound love of Torties .. You haven't lived until you've
been owned by a Tortie!!It
wasn't long before I met my very good friend and mentor Gail Pomerantz
(formerly Francois) of
Gitalaya
Cattery (now located in Texas in
the USA) who encouraged and guided me. I bought my very
first Chocolate girl from Gail, Gitalaya Champagne
Elite, aka Minky, who went on
to become a Supreme Champion. One cat led to another, and so my love of
the Burmese breed grew. Thus, I started as a
breeder in 1995.
Gail
introduced me to the Bombay Breed.. if you love Burmese you will be
crazy about the 'Boms'. My three little black daughters started
their show career at the World of Dogs and Cats in November 2000.
Our
Burmese are able to produce all ten colours. Our kittens are
reared in our home, in the nursery or in my son's bedroom, which he
willingly gives up. Our babies stay with us till the age of ten weeks,
by which time they are happy integrated little individuals ready to
settle into their new homes.
I
am always available to help with any problems.. should they arise.. few
do!
I enjoy meeting people and introducing them
to my four legged children, to get to know the breed, see the different
colours and talk Burmese. About
the Renwick family:
There
are four members in this cat crazy family known as the Renwick's ...
My husband Ken, didn't realise that he
adored cats until my Blue Burmese, Oliver, cast his spell on him. It was Ken who
originally persuaded me to breed and takes an active interest in the
babies when they are born and throughout the time that they are with us.
I, Alison - a.k.a. Ally, have always loved
cats. From the time I was knee high to a grasshopper - I have always had
a cat of my own. When I got to know the Burmese breed there was no
turning back.. I was in heaven! I started my own
boarding cattery.. almost eleven years
ago now.. and haven't looked back. I have met some truly amazing cats
during my career as a cattery owner, I have also made some wonderful
friends.
My daughter Meg is my right hand lady. She
is passionately fond of cats. She has her life mapped out, when she
leaves school (can't be soon enough) she wants to work in the
cattery, go to shows breed wonderful Burmese.. in fact steeps herself in
cats..
Chris, my son is a dream. Nothing much
rattles him. He also adores cats. He is only too happy to give up
his bedroom should we need it for a litter. He loves all animals
especially horses ..
